About cookies

Cookies are small text files that are used to store or retrieve information to perform certain functions and remember visits to a website.

Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies:

A persistent cookie will be stored by a web browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date, unless deleted by the user before the expiry date.

A session cookie will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.

Cookies do not typically contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.

Cookies used on this website

Cookies can be used to collect, store and share bits of information about your activities across websites, including on the arkaba.com website (“the website”, “our website”).

When you use and access the website, we may place a number of cookies files in your web browser. We use cookies for the following purposes:

Personalisation – to store information about your preferences and to personalise our website for you

Security – as an element of the security measures to protect our website and services generally

Analytics – to help us to analyse the use and performance of our website and services

Third-party cookies

Third parties such as analytics companies generally use cookies to collect user information on an anonymous basis. They may use that information to build a profile of your activities on our website and other websites that you’ve visited.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of our Website. Google Analytics gathers information by means of cookies. Google Analytics cookies are used to collect anonymous information about how visitors use the website, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from and the pages they visited. This information is used to create reports to help us improve our Website.

Detailed information about Google Analytics and its use of cookies is available at: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/cookie-usage

Google Maps

The embedded map on our Location page is provided as general information, provided under the Google Maps service. We use the reCAPTCHA service from Google on the arkaba.com contact form page to protect against spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects personal information about users to determine whether they’re humans and not spam bots. reCAPTCHA checks to see if the computer or mobile device has a Google cookie placed on it. A reCAPTCHA-specific cookie gets placed on the user’s browser and a complete snapshot of the user’s browser window is captured.

Browser and user information collected includes:
All cookies placed by Google in the last 6 months
